AI visibility

When someone asks ChatGPT for a supplier in Cyprus, what does it say?

A growing share of buying decisions now starts with a question to an assistant rather than a search box. The answer names two or three businesses and the person contacts them. If your facts are nowhere an assistant can reach, you are not in that answer - and unlike a search result, there is no second page to be on.

    01

How an assistant decides who to name

Different machines, same appetite: clear facts, stated plainly, in places that are already trusted, agreeing with each other.

    01

Facts it can lift without guessing

What you do, where, for whom, from what price, how to reach you - written as statements rather than implied by a hero image.

    02

    Structure a machine can parse

The same structured data search engines use: organisation, services, areas served, questions and answers. Assistants read it for the same reason.

    03

    Agreement across sources

Your site, your Google Business Profile, directories and anywhere else you appear saying the same name, address and phone. Contradictions make a source unusable.

    04

    Being quotable

A page that answers one question completely gets cited. A page of adjectives about a company gets skipped, by assistants and by people.

    02

What we actually do about it

The work overlaps with good SEO, which is convenient: nothing here is wasted if the assistants change their minds about how they pick sources.

    01

    Answer pages for real questions

What a job costs, how long it takes, what is included, what is not. The questions people type into an assistant, answered on their own addresses.

    02

    Machine-readable facts

Structured data for the organisation, each service, each location and every FAQ, checked against what the pages actually say.

    03

    An llms.txt for the site

A plain index of your key pages and facts at a predictable address, so a crawler that wants the summary does not have to reconstruct it.

    04

    Consistency everywhere else

Profiles and directories aligned with the site, because an assistant weighs agreement between sources more than polish on any one of them.

    Portfolio

    Work you can open

Not mock-ups. Four live sites, and the write-ups behind three of them.

    Questions

    Questions we get asked

The things people ask before they commit to anything.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend me?

No, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. There is no ranking to buy and no submission form. What we can do is make sure the facts exist, agree and are readable - which is the whole of what is actually in anyone's control.

    Is this different from SEO?

It overlaps heavily and adds a little. Assistants lean on the same signals search engines do, plus a preference for clear factual statements over marketing language.

How would I know if it worked?

Ask the assistants the questions your customers would ask, before and after, and write down what they say. It is imperfect - answers vary between sessions - but the direction becomes visible over a few weeks.

    What is llms.txt?

A proposed convention: a plain text file at a known address listing a site's important pages and facts for language models. Not a standard anyone is obliged to honour, but it costs almost nothing and some crawlers already read it.

Should I block AI crawlers instead?

That is a real choice, and for some businesses it is the right one. If your value is in content someone could copy, blocking makes sense. If your value is in work people hire you for, being quoted is free advertising.
